Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Chris Wilson has devoted his medical career to prevention and treatment of the diseases of musculoskeletal system organs like bones, joints, ligaments and muscles.
Chris spends one day a week in theatre, conducting operations, often emergencies, and a further day every week performing more routine reconstructive surgery, mainly in the fields of knee surgery.
Responsibilities also include; the supervision and training of specialist orthopaedic trainees and visiting trainees from overseas.
When not in theatre, the remainder of his week is spent in out-patient clinics, in carrying out training and teaching commitments. Most of his routine operating timetable involves surgery of the major lower limb joints, with a large number of joint replacements, particularly in the more complicated cases such as those involving rheumatoid arthritis.
