Life Changing Surgery

When I look back to 12 months ago prior to seeing Chris my life was pretty miserable physically. My knee was so bad that I could hardly walk, stairs were painful, I limped around everywhere and exercise was a no-go. My weight was ballooning, the knock on impact being that I was pretty unhappy with myself and not a nice person to live with as a result. Role the clock forward to today 10 months post-surgery…I exercise regularly, I’m pain free for the first time in years, I ride my bike into work, I’ve lost 3st in weight and within reason my knee no longer impacts my life. It’s funny, sometimes as I walk up stairs I still mentally flinch before I take the step in anticipation of a sharp pain that never comes…It’s funny old habits die hard….

So for me, the surgery (Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy) Chris performed has been literally life changing. Not just for me, but for those I live with (although my wife may think I spend too much time exercising and on the golf course these days J ). I still take each pain free day as it comes as I know eventually the benefits will wear off, but focusing on the here and now, I feel incredibly privileged to have had a talented surgeon give me my life back and for that I am extremely grateful.
